For decades, Bub and Bob have been aiming, shooting, and popping their way into the hearts of players all around the world. In honor of Bub's 35th anniversary, Taito's beloved bubble-bursting dragons are getting their first ever 3D adventure in Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey! But the jump to 3D and virtual reality is just one of many big changes these two have seen during their long time in the spotlight.
After their first appearance in the popular Japanese arcade platformer Bubble Bobble, Bub and Bob starred in more than a dozen sequels for everything from the NES to the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
In 1994, they appeared in Puzzle Bobble - also known as Bust-a-Move - which introduced the color-matching, bubble shooting action that quickly became a worldwide sensation, as did the game's cheerful, upbeat electronic music soundtrack composed and performed by Taito's house band, ZUNTATA. Along the way, Bub and Bob made a bunch of helpful friends who've joined them for their ongoing adventures.
Puzzle Bobble 3D for PS4, PSVR, and PS5 brings back beloved features from the franchise's previous installments and enhances them with new and immersive 3D gameplay. Now you can hear Bub and Bob's adorable banter as they solve puzzles, control a bubble cannon that moves with you in VR, and go head-to-head against Puzzle Bobble fans across the world in the new online Duel Mode. And for the first time, bubble puzzles now form three-dimensional clusters that spin and rotate with realistic physics as bubbles collide! Even ZUNTATA is back for more fun, performing a soundtrack that combines classic Puzzle Bobble tunes with a few new compositions written especially for Puzzle Bobble 3D.
